Onion are rich in powerful anti-bacterial sulphur compounds, which kills the bacteria that harms your teeth and gums. For best results eat onions in the raw.  About the only downside of eating onions is just the said of effect it may have on your breath.  Therefore eat raw onions when you are not worried about an bad breath issues.
